Today's panchang for your city
Pick a city to see today's panchang there: the tithi, nakshatra, yoga and karana, sunrise and sunset, rahu kaal, and the choghadiya for the day. Change the date to see any other day. Every time is worked out for the place you pick.
How this works
The panchang is the Hindu almanac for a day and a place. Its five parts come from the true positions of the Sun and the Moon: the tithi is the lunar day, the nakshatra is the Moon's star group, and the yoga and karana come from their combined motion. The day is read at sunrise, as the Hindu calendar reads it.
Rahu kaal is one eighth of the daylight, picked by the weekday, so it is never a fixed clock time: it moves with the seasons and from city to city. The choghadiya splits the day and the night into eight parts each. A calendar printed for India can be wrong for another country, sometimes by a whole day, which is why every time here is worked out for your own city.
