Kundli Matching API with a clear verdict

Our kundli matching API compares two birth charts the traditional way and says what the result means. You get the 36-point guna milan score, the manglik and nadi checks, and a one-word verdict with its reasons. The verdict follows a stated rule, so your users can see why.

The match verdict for Jane Doe and John Doe, what it means in plain words, and the guna milan score: points out of 36 from eight traditional factors. Real output for Jane Doe (bride), born Mar 22, 1992, 2:45 PM, Chicago, and John Doe (groom), born Aug 15, 1990, 10:30 AM, New York.

What the kundli matching API returns

  • A verdict in one word, "favourable", "workable" or "difficult", with a plain headline, the concerns, the strengths and what to do next.
  • The 36-point guna milan (ashtakoot) score, factor by factor, before and after the standard exceptions. Both totals come back, so you can skip an exception you do not accept.
  • The manglik (Mars) comparison, rajju and vedha, shown next to the score, not added to it.
  • The ten South Indian poruthams (dashakoot) and papa samyam, which compares the difficult planets in the two charts.
  • Only know the nakshatras? POST /v1/matching/nakshatra gives the same score and a verdict with no birth times.
  • Each person's planets placed in the other's chart, and a love, career or wealth forecast for the couple.
  • Add a proposed wedding date (as_of) to check dasha sandhi, the joint between two main periods, for both people.

The 36 points use only the two Moons, so the score is not the whole story; the verdict and the other checks fill in the rest. The request names the two people bride and groom, because the score is not symmetric: swapping them can change it.

The rules behind it

Guna milan has eight factors (kootas) worth 1 to 8 points, 36 in all (KM-01), and the scheme is not symmetric (KM-02). Standard exceptions can give back nadi and bhakoot points, and the API shows the score both ways (KM-07). Rajju and vedha carry no points (KM-08). The ten poruthams pass or fail; they are not a second score out of 36 (KM-11). Papa samyam is compared, not scored (KM-13). The verdict is a stated rule, not a score (KM-14). Planets placed in each other's charts are never scored or merged into one chart (PS-04, PS-05).
