Every endpoint of the Astrology API, with its parameters, responses and code examples. To send a test request, add your API key under Authentication, open an endpoint and choose Test Request. Test requests are real calls: they use your key and count toward your plan. The key you paste is kept in this browser tab only, until you close it or choose Forget my API key, and is only sent with your test requests.

Endpoints by group

All 42 endpoints in 9 groups. Paths are relative to https://qastage01.apiforastrology.com/api/gateway.

Meta

Service health, and what the API supports: ayanamsas, the house system, divisional charts and the date range. No birth data needed.

Charts

Calculations for the birth chart itself: planet positions, the ascendant (the sign rising at birth), the 16 divisional charts, aspects and planet strength. Most of these return numbers and placements only. The Jaimini and ashtakavarga endpoints also include short explanatory text.

Dasha

Dashas are planetary periods: a life is divided into periods, each ruled by one planet. Vimshottari is a 120-year cycle, returned with up to five levels of sub-periods and calendar dates. Yogini is a second, 36-year system.

Panchang

The panchang is the Hindu calendar's description of a day through five elements: the lunar day, the Moon's nakshatra (one of 27 lunar mansions), yoga, karana and weekday. /v1/panchang reads them at a birth moment. /v1/panchang/daily and /v1/panchang/month need only a date and a place, and include the times each element changes.

Interpretation

Findings about a chart, such as yogas (planetary combinations), doshas (unfavorable placements) and sade sati (a long Saturn transit). Each finding states the rule it applied and the chart facts that met it, so you can check the reasoning.

Transits

Transits compare where the planets are now with where they were at birth (in Vedic astrology this is called gochara). The current-transit endpoint judges each planet from the birth Moon and applies vedha, a traditional rule by which one transiting planet blocks another's effect. The calendar endpoints give dates, and the /v1/sky endpoints describe the sky itself, with no chart. Every result names the rule it used.

Matching

Compatibility between two people, as used for marriage matching in India. The main result is the 36-point ashtakoot score, built from eight factors called kootas. The response also shows the standard exceptions that cancel a zero score on a factor, and checks that are reported outside the score. A forecast for a couple is here too. The score is not symmetric, so requests name the two people bride and groom.

Reading

Written readings. For a full chart reading, call /v1/reading/sections once to get the list of sections for a chart, then fetch the sections you need. Other endpoints here give a daily reading, a reading for a Moon sign, themed forecasts, a plain-language summary and a printable report. The text comes from the service's built-in library of readings, so these endpoints need no database.

Muhurta

Dates and good times. The Hindu festival and fasting calendar for a year at a place, and muhurtas (good times to start an activity): buying a vehicle, buying property, moving into a new home, and marriage. Both are checked against a published calendar: 161 of 161 festival dates, and all 579 published muhurta windows across four activities and two years. Every answer names the rule that decided it. Nothing is scored or ranked.
