Astrology API changelog

What changed in the API, newest first. A rule correction can change results for some charts, so each one names the rule it touched. The current version is 1.0.0, with 42 endpoints.

  1. Rule corrections

    • Kundli matching: the rajju groups of Dhanishtha and Shatabhisha were swapped. They are fixed, so some rajju results change (KM-08).
    • Planet dignity: the Moon and Mercury are exalted only in the first degrees of their exaltation sign, and mulatrikona uses the standard degree ranges. The rest of those signs reads as own sign (CH-02, CH-04, CH-05).
    • Yogas: an exchange of signs between the 9th and 10th house lords now counts as the full dharma-karmadhipati yoga (YG-13). Vasumathi yoga, counted from the Moon, no longer counts the Moon itself (YG-24).

  2. Plain answers

    • Every dosha check has an answer block: whether the dosha is present, what it means and what to do next, in plain English (POST /v1/dosha/{name}). Send detail=expanded for longer text.
    • Kundli matching ends with a conclusion: one of three verdicts, what counts for and against the match, and what to do next (POST /v1/matching, KM-14).
    • The career, love, wealth and personality readings open with a direct answer before the evidence.
    • The 32 nabhasa yogas are checked on every chart (POST /v1/yogas, YG-33 to YG-64).

  3. Hindi names, and days without a chart

    • Hindi responses translate every name the API returns, such as planets, signs, nakshatras and weekdays. Field names stay in English.
    • The daily panchang (GET /v1/panchang/daily), the sky (GET /v1/sky) and the vrat calendar (GET /v1/vrats) need only a date and a place, not a birth chart.
    • All reading text was rewritten in plain language.

  4. Festivals, muhurat and summaries

    • Festival dates for any year and place (GET /v1/festivals and GET /v1/festivals/{slug}).
    • Good times for an activity, such as buying a vehicle (POST /v1/muhurta/{activity}).
    • A short plain-language summary of a chart (POST /v1/summary).
    • Longer reading text with detail=expanded.

  5. Second dasha system, southern matching and forecasts

    • Yogini dasha, a 36-year system beside Vimshottari (POST /v1/dasha/yogini, YD-01).
    • Southern matching: the ten poruthams (dashakoot) and papa samyam come back with every match (POST /v1/matching, KM-11, KM-13).
    • The pair reading, which lays the two charts on each other without a score (POST /v1/matching/parasparam).
    • Forecasts for one theme over a date range, for one person (POST /v1/forecast/{theme}) or a couple (POST /v1/forecast/couple/{theme}).
    • The karmic reading of the Rahu-Ketu axis, with no past-life claims (POST /v1/karma, KR-01).
    • The report shows where the chart's own rules point in opposite directions (RC-01).

  6. Birth details

    • The avakhada chakra: the birth nakshatra, Moon sign and six matching traits for one chart (reading section birth-details, BD-01).
    • Fixed: the lunar month at birth could be named two months early (BD-03).
